How to measure jacket size
Measuring your body will help you get the perfect size of your jacket that fits you easily.
After you get the measurements of your body, all you need to do is see the jacket size chart on the product page of the Natural Jackets. The sizes are different for men and women.
It’s better if someone helps you take your measurements because it’s difficult to take your chest and sleeve measurements yourself.
How To Measure A Jacket For Men
You’ll see the measurements on the product’s chart in inches. Let’s say your chest size is around 40–41 inches, and your shoulder size is around 19.
This matches the medium size in the size chart, which will fit your body perfectly.
- Wrap the measurement tape beneath your armpits and from the broadest part of your chest to your back.
- Make sure not to keep it too tight or too loose.
Where the tape ends is the size of your chest.
Note: Please take the jacket sizing in inches, not in centimeters.
You might have been confused about the jacket’s chest size in the jacket length chart.
The jacket’s chest size is the size of your chest after you wear the jacket.
Taking your current jacket’s measurements is more crucial, especially when you’re buying an oversized jacket that has a loose size.
To take this size:
- Wear your old jacket that fits you
- Take the measurement from the widest part of your chest
But it’s recommended that you buy a jacket with an extra size of 1 inch so it won’t be too tight on your chest.
Now, for the shoulder measurement, you’ll need a helper. Tell them to stand behind you and:
- Put one side of the measurement tap on your left shoulder, where it meets your arm
- Put the other side of the tape on the other shoulder
- Take one part of the tape where your shoulder starts
- Take it all the way down to your wrist
Remember to keep your hand in a relaxed and straight position; don’t tighten it.
Start from the base (bottom) of your neck down to the bottom of your back (lower waist or where the hip starts).
Bend slightly, find the natural position where your body bends (slightly above your belly button), and wrap the tap to take the measurement.

How To measure a jacket size for women
Suppose you find your chest size in the women’s jacket size chart
38–39 inches, and the shoulder size is around 16.
Then you should choose the medium size for buying your jacket.
- Wear a bra and find the widest part of your chest
- Wrap the measurement tape (not too tight) and find the size
- You must wear your old jacket along with your bra to measure your Jacket’s bust size otherwise you might buy a jacket which will fit your bust too tightly.
- Tell your helper to put one side of the tape on one shoulder and connect it with the other shoulder.
- Put the tap on the spot where your shoulder starts and take it to your wrist.
- If you keep your hands tight, you might measure the wrong size, so just keep your hands relaxed.
Length should be measured from the back; instruct your helper to:
- Keep one side of the measurement tape at the bottom of your neck
- Take it down to where you want the end of your jacket.
Note: If you’re buying a cropped jacket for women, you’ll need to measure the length where you want the hem of your jacket to end.
For waist measurement, find the natural bending position of the middle waist above your belly and wrap the measurement tape to find the size for the jacket.

Unisex jacket size guide
- If you’re buying a unisex jacket, the measurement method is the same for men and women.
- But for women, you should buy it with a little extra size on the chest so it won’t be too tight on your bust.
